No county tax increase for 10th year

There will be no county tax increase for the 10th year in a row. The Warren County Commission met Monday night and approved a $75.1 million budget.The budget calls for all full-time county employees with at least one year of service to receive a $500 per year increase in salary, and part-time employees to receive a $250 per year increase in pay.The measure to keep the tax rate unchanged at $1.99 passed 22-1 with Commissioner George Smartt voting against it.The consolidated county budget passed 21-2 with Smartt and Commissioner Kenneth Rogers voting against it. Sally Brock was absent.Smartt informed the commission he would be voting against the budget for a variety of reasons.
