Night of magnificence

Warren County High School seniors are preparing for what could be considered the night of their lives with the prom being held this Saturday night at 8 p.m.
The theme for this year’s event is “Classique Magnifique” French words roughly meaning classically magnificent.
Tammie Gutierrez, an employee of The Cat’s Meow, says the store has been extremely busy with girls trying to find the perfect gown and boys picking up their tuxedos.
“Most of the boys are going with basic black tuxes,” said Gutierrez. “Their vests, ties and the insert in the coat pocket match their girlfriend’s dress.”
Juan Vanloo selected a black tuxedo with a blue vest, bow tie and insert.
“I’m excited for prom,” said Vanloo. “It’s going to be fun.”
He will be attending the event with girlfriend Shelby Smith, who is also a WCHS senior. Vanloo and Smith did things a little different. Her dress was purchased to matched his tux.
“Actually, he wanted blue,” said Smith. “I’m not a fan of blue, but I agreed. I do like my dress though. It’s beautiful.”
Smith selected a high-low prom dress, which means it’s knee length in the front and floor length, or almost floor length, in the back.
Senior Haley Sanders, who is attending the prom with Logan Underhill, says she selected a white, full-length dress.
“I am excited for the prom,” said Sanders. “It’s kind of sad, though. Today, they gave us our caps and gowns to wear during graduation. It feels like the end.”
