The replacement for longtime McMinnville fire chief Kevin Lawrence apparently isn't going to take the job after all. The Southern Standard learned Tuesday night that newly appointed fire chief Jeff Monroe has decided against taking the job after accepting it two weeks ago. Monroe had been expected to report to work, but didn't show up.
