Motorist nearly hits officers

A driver has been indicted on numerous charges after he nearly ran down several policemen on the side of the road and then was caught with a stash of drugs.The suspect, Adrian Kevin Nelson, 42, was indicted on charges of reckless endangerment with a motor vehicle, possession of drugs, and driving on a suspended license. A passenger, Courtney Martin, has also been indicted along with him. Nelson was arrested following a near miss on Highway 55 where officers were making an arrest on the side of the road.“A 1999 Mazda traveling eastbound almost struck me and several other officers,” said McMinnville Police Sgt. Ken Seagraves of the incident that happened at 2 a.m.Policewoman Rachel Nichols was waving a strobe light back and forth in an attempt to wave off the vehicle.
