A mother will serve 120 days in jail for breaking her baby’s arm.The mother, Whitney Paige Hawkins, entered a guilty plea before Circuit Court Judge Bart Stanley to the reduced charge of aggravated assault and was ordered to serve 120 days of an eight-year sentence. She originally faced the Class A felony of aggravated child abuse that could have cost her 15 to 25 years in prison. She will remain on probation after her time in jail is complete and will be required to undergo programs overseen by the Department of Children’s Services.
