Students at Morrison Elementary School will not go thirsty while playing outside on the playground thanks to Koppers Industries Inc., which donated a new water fountain to the school.
Morrison principal Kim Cantrell is very appreciative of the gift.
“The fountain has been winterized and is turned off right now, but it will certainly get lots of use in the spring. We are very thankful for this generous donation,” said Cantrell.
Koppers is a worldwide company with locations in the United States, United Kingdom, Denmark, Netherlands, Australia, and China employing about 1,700 people worldwide in manufacturing and wood treatment plants.
Pittsburgh, Pa., serves as the world-wide headquarters for the company. Locally, Koppers is on Railroad Street in Morrison. The local company purchases and ships railroad cross ties.
Koppers employee Stacy Hobbs has two sons who attend Morrsion School. He said the company donated the drinking fountain because he knew the school was in need of one and the company likes to help out any way it can in the community.
