An elderly Morrison man was injured Monday afternoon when his daughter’s car slammed into a tree just outside Morrison. The victim, Charles St. John, 85, was transported to Stones River Hospital in Woodbury for treatment. His daughter, the driver of the car, Carol Rigsby, 64, escaped injury.According to highway patrolman Rodney Whiles, the wreck happened just before 3 p.m. Monday on Jacksboro Highway (Highway 287) just outside Morrison. An investigation of the scene revealed Rigsby was traveling southbound, toward Morrison, on Jacksboro Highway when she lost control of her 1999 Ford Escort. The vehicle skidded off the road and down a wet embankment.“Due to the wetness of the grass, she could do little to stop before hitting the tree,” Whiles said, noting a recent rain left the grass very slick leading up to the tree.
