A man whose concealed needle pricked a policeman was given probation on shoplifting and drug charges.The man, Shaun David Sparkman, 30, of Sparta entered guilty pleas before Special Judge Barry Medley to charges of shoplifting and possession of drugs and was released on time served and placed on probation for an 11-month, 29-day period. He will also be required to pay $1,863.Sparkman was caught stealing items from the health and beauty aid section of Walmart. Officer Jared Jacobs said the suspect was yelling and screaming and trying to pull away as he was placing him into custody.
