Snatching an Xbox while on probation will cost a Rock Island man four months in jail. The probationer, Nathan Ryan McCormick, 21, actually stood to emerge from his former trouble without even having a criminal record, but his conviction on theft charges this past week changes all that.McCormick entered a guilty plea before General Sessions Judge Bill Locke to the charge of misdemeanor theft. He was given an 11-month, 29-day probationary sentence and was ordered to make $245 restitution to the pawn shops to which he sold the stolen items.Investigators say he stole items including an Xbox, tools, metal detector and saddle and then pawned them for cash at two pawn shops. He also had friends help pawn the items. While his stealing and pawning cost him an extra year on probation his new crimes were not completely forgiven as they violated a judicial diversion he was on for the past crime of reckless endangerment. The former crime involved McCormick crashing his vehicle on Red Road last Christmas Eve.
