Man charged with stealing vehicles

A man charged with stealing one vehicle in each of the three last years will serve a half year in jail.The man, Christopher Pinegar, entered guilty pleas before Circuit Court Judge Bart Stanley to charges of burglary, misdemeanor theft, and felony theft. He was directed to serve six months of a seven-year sentence and make $1,000 restitution.His sentences come after he took three vehicles, including four-wheelers and trucks, from three different victims from 2009 to 2011.The first of the thefts happened when Pinegar took a red Honda Rubicon 2002 four-wheeler with an estimated value of over $1,000 in 2009.His next theft happened at the beginning of 2010 when he tried to sell a vehicle that did not belong to him.“He sold a 1993 Dodge Dakota truck for $200,” recalled sheriff’s investigator Travis Thaxton. “He did not have permission from the owner to use or sell the truck which had been reported stolen.”His last theft happened in June when he took at 2004 Chevy Colorado from the property of Plants Inc.
