A debate over religion escalated between a Centertown couple to the point where a gun was drawn, leaving the man charged with felony assault. The suspect, Anthony J. Terrigino Jr., 31, is charged with aggravated domestic assault for his alleged actions, which included both a physical assault and a threat to kill his girlfriend.“She said they had been arguing about religion,” revealed sheriff’s deputy Eddie Colwell. “He pushed her in a chair and she told him to leave.”The report says Terrigino began to choke her and said he needed 30 days in order to leave. She then reportedly called 911, prompting another threat from her angry boyfriend.“He told her if she puts him in jail he will kill her and her family and burn her house down,” Colwell said in his report, noting that at one point the woman claimed he pointed a pistol at her.Terrigino left before deputies arrived, but returned and was found to be in an intoxicated state, leading to more charges.“He failed field sobriety tests, had slurred speech and stated he drank three 22-ounce beers,” Cowell noted in his warrants against Terrigino.
