Friends of the Greenway is making a trail to better fundraising efforts.The organization has achieved 501(c)3 status and is kicking off a membership campaign for individuals and businesses.Friends of the Greenway is a private citizens group aimed at maintaining and developing natural spaces for public use. It’s a nonprofit extension of the Greenway Council, which works through McMinnville city government.The Greenway Council’s most high profile current project is River Trail East, which is working to lengthen the Barren Fork Greenway. Thus far a trail has been cleared and wood chips spread in the area around Sally’s Alley.“The ultimate goal is to link the greenway back together in a loop,” said Friends of the Greenway member Trevor Galligan.
