A local woman was among two drivers critically injured in a head-on crash in Smithville on Saturday night.Rosedaly R. Hernandez, 22, of McMinnville was airlifted from near the scene of the accident to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga. The other driver, Judy Merriman, 51, of Smithville was rushed to DeKalb Community Hospital and later flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.The crash happened just after sundown around 6 p.m. on East Broad Street in Smithville near Foutch Industries. According to Highway Patrol reports, Merriman was traveling east on Highway 70 in her 1998 Chevy Blazer when she pulled into the turning lane and then crossed in front of the oncoming 2007 Suzuki driven by Hernandez.
