Every year, Lions clubs from around the world proudly sponsor the Lions International Peace Poster Contest in local schools and youth groups. According to the Lions Club website, over the past 20 years more than 4 million children from nearly 100 countries have participated in the competition.The McMinnville Lions Club sponsored the local contest this year with children from Covenant Academy and Eastside participating. The theme for the poster contest was “Children Know Peace.”These young artists, who range in age from 11-13, can use a variety of mediums, including charcoal, crayon, pencil or paint to express the theme.Students from Covenant Academy took the top three spots.
