Two were injured when a vehicle flipped Tuesday night.
According to state trooper Ben Cannon, the single-vehicle wreck occurred on Short Mountain Road at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday and involved a 70-year-old and his 17-year-old granddaughter.
“Wilson Keith Wray was traveling southbound on Short Mountain Road in a Toyota Tacoma,” said Cannon. “He was negotiating a curve in the area of Hunter Lane. For some unknown reason, his vehicle left the roadway on the right side. He may have run off the road due to weather conditions, but that’s just my guess.”
The vehicle traveled in the ditch line for a short distance and flipped. It landed on its top.
“The embankment had a slight grade to it,” said Cannon. “It caused the pickup to overturn. Mr. Wray had his 17-year-old granddaughter in the vehicle with him. He was taking her home.”
Both were transported to Saint Thomas River Park Hospital by Warren County EMS. While the teenager sustained minor injuries, Mr. Wray’s injuries were more serious.
“It appeared he may have suffered some broken ribs,” said Cannon.
No citations were given and none are pending.
