A convicted felon has been indicted for dropping the ball after allegedly releasing a bag of meth on the floor of the search area at the Warren County Jail, along with having cocaine and two firearms in his vehicle.

Michael Tramaine Woods, 41, was indicted following the March meeting of the grand jury. He was allegedly found to have a loaded .38 Smith & Wesson in his right pants pocket, a folded paper containing cocaine in the front of a cigarette box, and a shotgun wrapped in a jacket in the backseat of his vehicle.

Upon Woods’ arrest, he was transported to Warren County Jail. Following a search of his person by a corrections officer, a bag containing meth was found on the floor where Woods had been standing during his search.

The charges come when Woods was arrested in January after McMinnville police officer Brenton Hickerson received a call regarding a male with active warrants driving a green Toyota Camry in the area of Mount View Avenue located off Sparta Street.

Hickerson performed a traffic stop. Woods didn’t have any form of identification on his person, and Hickerson learned his driver’s license had been revoked since May 2012, and he had been convicted of a prior driving on a revoked license in February 2018.

Hickerson performed a search of Woods’ person and allegedly located a loaded .38 Smith & Wesson revolver in his right front pocket. An inventory of the vehicle was performed where two sets of digital scales were found in a brown bag on the passenger side floor.

According to the arrest warrant, a white piece of folded paper with cocaine was in the front of a pack of Marlboro cigarettes in the passenger seat. A shotgun was also located wrapped up in a coat lying on the back seat.

Woods was taken into custody and transported to Warren County Jail. Upon arrival, he was searched. After Woods was taken out of the search area, a clear plastic bag was found lying on the floor where Woods had been standing. The bag contained meth. Prior to this incident, Woods had been asked several times if he had anything on his person.

Woods was indicted for simple possession of cocaine, possession of meth, felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, introduction of meth into a penal institution, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and second offense driving on a revoked license.
