A wreck on Manchester Highway left a Dodge pickup on its side and injured an 85-year-old man.

Tuesday afternoon, Warren County resident Hilton Lynell Williams, 85, was traveling eastbound on South Mill Street in a 1996 red Dodge pickup. He was heading away from downtown Morrison. According to Deputy Lynn Cannon at the Warren County Sheriff’s Department, Williams approached the intersection at Highway 55 and yielded to a few cars.

Williams attempted to cross the highway and continue on South Mill Street. He failed to yield to Christopher Wayne Hopkins, also of Warren Co. Hopkins, 35, was driving a 2012 black Toyota Camry, traveling toward McMinnville on Manchester Highway. As Williams was crossing Highway 55, Hopkins t-boned Williams’ pickup.

The collision caused the Dodge to go off the right side of the highway when coming inbound and land on its passenger side. Williams was found to be at fault and was transported to Ascension Saint Thomas River Park for minor head injuries. Citations are pending.

The accident happened about ten minutes before 3 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon.
