A man who didn’t want to get out of bed faces resisting arrest charges after he fought tooth and nail with deputies who tried to take him into custody. The man, Barry Dale West, 55, is charged with resisting arrest and burglary. He will have a preliminary hearing Feb. 21.Deputies arrived at his home on Jones Lane to arrest him on outstanding warrants and found him lying in the bedroom.“We asked him to get up out of bed and he refused,” revealed deputy Derek Bowles, noting they then repeated their orders to get out of bed and come peacefully with them. When one deputy reached to pull him out of bed, the fight was on.“It took additional deputies to try to subdue him,” Bowles said, noting they finally got the best of him. “We finally had to tase him in order to place him under arrest.”The outstanding warrant against him which led to their visit to his home was brought two days earlier when he allegedly broke into someone else’s home and got into their hot tub without permission.
