McMinnville’s Silver & Gold Band, the oldest continuously performing community band in Tennessee, leads a glittering procession of local musical talent in public radio WCPI’s tribute to the Christmas season. Under the direction of Mike Chilcutt, the Silver & Gold Band offered a concert of Christmas pops last Sunday afternoon at Three Star Mall. WCPI’s recording of the event will air Sunday and Christmas day at 12:30 p.m. All the program events are repeated 12 hours later on the non-commercial broadcast service, operating at 91.3 FM. The Warren County High School choir and select choir go on the air Sunday and Christmas day at 2:10 p.m. The Warren County High School band will have performances air Sunday and Christmas day at 3 p.m. Both the band and choir concerts took place before near-capacity audiences at Park Theatre.
