Warren Arts serving up frightful fun

Photo provided Ted Woods, Simone O'Dell and Sophia Hunt are eager to welcome visitors to The Hollow at Warren Arts every Friday and Saturday night in October as well as Halloween night.

Warren Arts is a popular destination for those looking for entertainment, offering thrilling plays and musicals throughout the year. For the remainder of October, however, Warren Arts will be offering thrills of a different kind.

Members of the local performing arts group have been hard at work transforming the building and the surrounding property at 5482 Manchester Hwy in Morrison into a haven for horror lovers. Dubbed The Hollow at Warren Arts, the immersive Halloween experience makes use of the 10,000-square-foot building and six acres of land to offer a wide variety of frights inspired by classic horror films and literature. A haunted hayride is also available for those looking for some extra scares.

The Hollow at Warren Arts is offered every Friday and Saturday night in October and Halloween night from 7-10 p.m.  Tickets are $15 each and available only at the event.

The Hollow is aimed at teens and adults with those under 15 requiring parental permission to enter. Brave visitors can expect to encounter fog and strobe lights.

For those not quite old enough for the full-fright experience, Warren Arts will present KIDS' Howl at the Hollow on Oct. 21 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. A bounce house, face painting, crafts, games, concessions, photo opportunities and hayrides will be offered. Tickets for KIDS' Howl are $5 per child with free admission for parents and caregivers over 17.

The Hollow is Warren Arts' biggest fundraiser of the year and requires a great number of volunteers to provide the delightful fear factor. To that end, Warren Arts is offering a volunteer exchange, inviting volunteers from other nonprofits, civic groups and school clubs to work The Hollow in exchange for a portion of the proceeds for their organizations.

"These events have been in the planning stage since late 2022 and work has been going on for some exhibits since May. We're excited for everyone to come out and enjoy the fruits of our labor and we'd like to thank our sponsors for the events, including the Steve and Kate Smith Community Trust Fund, Tennessee Arts Commission, Montgomery's Plumbing, Cathey's Portable Toilets, Garrison Martial Arts, Homeland Community Bank, The Detention at the Elementary and H&R Agri-Power," said Sheri Denning, executive director of Warren Arts.
