Negotiation has failed to lower the bid price to remove a pedestrian walkway at Warren County Middle School.Tri-State Development bid $181,000 on the project. However, the Board of Education budgeted $158,000. Board members voted to allow Upland Design architect Allen Hill to negotiate with the company in an effort to reduce the bid given by the $23,000 difference.Director of Schools Bobby Cox informed members of the county Education Committee on Tuesday night the effort has failed.“It looks like we will have to rebid to get that down into our budget range,” said Cox.Two companies submitted bids, but one was received after the deadline and could not be considered.
