Walkway demolition OK'd by fire marshal

This walkway at WCMS is scheduled to be removed as a cost-saving measure. Repairing it would have been much more expensive, architects said.
Demolition of a pedestrian bridge at Warren County Middle School has received approval from the State Fire Marshal. Removal of the bridge closest to Nunley Stadium is considered a cost-saving measure on the $750,000 estimate given to replace all three bridges, or $240,000 to stabilize the three as a temporary fix. According to Director of Schools Bobby Cox, Upland Design Group has received approval to remove the worst of the walkways.“When it comes to the walkways at the middle school, the fire marshal has approved the removal of the one closest to the football field,” said Cox.
