A convenience trip to The Store ended in a two-vehicle collision.

The Store is located on Morrison Street and was the destination of Michael Steakley, 53, driving a Nissan Altima.

“Mr. Steakley reported that he was pulling from the parking lot of the convenience store and just didn’t see the oncoming vehicle,” said McMinnville Police officer Andy Aguilar. “By the time he saw it, it was too late.”

Traveling inbound on Morrison Street in a Chevy Silverado was Jeffery McGee, 51.

“The truck struck the back driver's side of the car causing it to spin,” said Aguilar. “It came to rest pointing in the direction of The Store. You can see the skid marks on the street where Mr. McGee attempted to prevent the collision.”

Both drivers refused transport for medical treatment and no serious injuries were reported.

No citations were issued. However, Steakley was credited with being the at-fault party.
