The subject of a major drug bust in late 2023 entered into a plea agreement Wednesday, and will be incarcerated for the next eight years for his crimes.
Timothy Earl Trainer pleaded in front of Circuit Court Judge Bart Stanley Wednesday afternoon, while facing 12 counts on seven different charges stemming from a Dec. 2023 arrest.
As a result of his plea agreement, which was negotiated between Trainer’s attorney, Thomas Miner, and the District Attorney’s office, Trainer will serve an effective eight-year sentence in Tennessee Department of Corrections custody.
He will also pay a $2,000 fine to the drug fund, plus court costs.
Trainer pleaded guilty to one count of the amended charge of possession of methamphetamine in an amount of over 26 grams, a Class B felony. He agreed to a sentence of eight years after originally being charged with possession of over 300 grams. Trainer also pleaded guilty to money laundering, and received a concurrent sentence of eight years for that Class B felony. He must forfeit any money seized during his arrest, but an order to returned seized weapons to his family has been filed.
Trainer was arrested Dec. 7, 2023, and accused of possessing 377 grams of methamphetamine along with other drugs and weapons after a search warrant was conducted on his property at 184 Molly Lane. He was originally charged with possession of meth for resale, possession of suboxone, possession of oxycodone, sale of hydrocodone, possession of a firearm during a dangerous felony, driving while in possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia.
A second meth possession charge, as well as two counts of possession of a schedule III substance, four counts of possession of a schedule II substance, a count of possession of a firearm with an intent to go armed, driving while in possession of methamphetamine and the paraphernalia charge, were all dismissed as part of Trainer’s plea agreement.
