Third vote set for IDB position

Will three times be the charm to break a Jeff Golden-Carrie Huckeby deadlock when it comes to Warren County government’s appointment to the Industrial Development Board?

The effort to appoint a member to the IDB has divided the Warren County Commission twice and is up for a third consideration during the full commission meeting this Monday, Dec. 16, at 6:30 p.m.

Last month’s effort ended with 12 votes for Golden and 11 for Huckeby:

Voting in favor of Golden were Commissioners Michael Bell, Carl D. Bouldin, Randy England, Steven Helton, Gary Prater, Gary Martin, Scott Rubley, Joseph Stotts, Tyrone Sparkman, Phillip Stout, Cole Taylor and Blaine Wilcher.

Voting in favor of Huckeby were Commissioners Carlene Brown, David Dunlap, Deborah Evans, Steve Glenn, Richard Grissom, Robert Hennessee, Lorie Judkins, Ron Lee, Daniel Owens, Christy Ross and Tommy Savage.

In October, Huckeby received 12 votes to Golden’s 11. Switching sides was Commissioner Gary Martin.

Commissioner Carl E. Bouldin was absent during both October and November sessions.

One candidate must receive 13 votes in order for the stalemate to be broken. Golden remains a member of Industrial Development Board until his reappointment is confirmed or he is replaced.
