A teen-age driver was killed and her passenger critically injured when they were struck head-on by a truck that was on the wrong side of the road.
Two teenage girls returning from McDonalds were hit head-on by a truck that was on the wrong side of the road Sunday night, killing the young driver and leaving the others critically injured.The teen driver, Promise Harrison, 16, was killed in the head-on crash while her passenger, Sadie Singleton, 14, was critically injured. She was flown from the scene to Erlanger as was the driver of the truck that slammed into them, Craig Mears, 56, of Woodbury.“He was on the wrong side of the highway and had been for some time leading up to the crash,” revealed Highway Patrol Sgt. Jimmy Jones, noting a witness saw the truck traveling on the wrong side of the four-lane that is separated by a grassy median. “They were trying to get his attention to let him know he was on the wrong side of the road, which he had been for several miles, and witnessed the wreck.”Jones said Harrison was driving a 2012 Nissan Versa that was heading westbound (away from McMinnville) when the 2005 Toyota Tacoma, which was heading east in the westbound lane, appeared out of the darkness and hit her vehicle head-on.
