Christmas just took a super hit, or was that a heroic POW? The 2017 McMinnville Christmas Parade theme is slated for Dec. 2 at 2:30 p.m. This year’s theme is Superheroes for Christmas.A superhero is a type of heroic stock character who possesses supernatural or superhuman powers and who is dedicated to fighting crime, protecting the public, and usually battling supervillains. Noted heroes include Superman, Batman, Spider-Man, Thor, Hal Jordan, Wonder Woman, Captain America, Mr. Fantastic, Wolverine, Iron Man, Super Boy, Super Girl, Hulk, Power Girl and Swamp Thing.For his years in fighting local crime, this year’s grand marshal will be Warren County Sheriff Jackie Matheny. He is the county’s longest serving sheriff.
