Its never too late, or too early, to begin recycling. At Hickory Creek Elementary School, recycling efforts have intensified in third grade. That class is collecting plastics and cans. Pictured, from left, are Addison Steakley, Aubrey Oleksik and Maci McBride.
Third-graders at Hickory Creek Elementary are on their way to learning the three Rs – reduce, reuse and recycle.“We are recycling,” said Hickory Creek teacher Megan Creedmore. “Our end goal is to make Warren County a better recycling community by teaching children the ins and outs of recycling so they will understand the importance when they are adults.”TDOT’s anti-littering program for Warren County donated bins to be used at the school. Currently, the class is recycling plastics and cans.Creedmore says the process included a learning curve.“I didn’t know plastics have a number on the bottom.
