Stembridge gets 10 days for fleeing police

A man who fled police and swerved into oncoming traffic nearly causing a wreck has been sentenced to 10 days in jail. The man, Steve W. Stembridge, 32, entered guilty pleas Thursday before General Sessions Judge Bill Locke to charges of evading arrest, reckless endangerment and driving on a revoked license. He was directed to serve 10 days of an 11-month, 29-day sentence, must pay $50 plus costs, and perform 24 hours public service work.
