Pistole Park Soccer Complex will receive a field upgrade with new turf.
McMinnville officials unanimously approved a measure Tuesday night that will purchase sod for field No. 9 at a cost of $22,000.
Approval means the renovation of the field will continue. Currently, field preparation working is being done by the city Water Department director Anthony Pelham and his employees, who are clearing and leveling the ground, replacing the water lines, and installing a new irrigation system to help protect the new sod once it is installed.
Parks and Recreation director Scott McCord offered his gratitude for Water Department assistance.
“I want to give a huge thank you to Anthony and his crew for the work that’s being done and his cooperation,” said McCord. “It couldn’t be done without his assistance. I just want to say a huge thanks to Anthony.”
Work began in 2014 to upgrade the soccer complex at the request of Warren County Youth Soccer Association, which needed assistance with the capital improvements. This is the second field to be renovated since that time.
