Smith sentenced to Federal prison for meth

A Warren County resident was sentenced for drug charges in United States District Court, Eastern District according to the Warren County Sheriff’s Department.

In a press release by the Sheriff’s Dept., Kerry Shane Smith pled guilty to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. According to the press release, “Smith was sentenced to 97 months in Federal prison, to be released on supervised probation at the end of the sentence. In addition, Smith was ordered to pay $74,500 in fines.”

Sheriff Jackie Matheny, Jr. added that he wants to recognize investigator Jared Jacobs along with the State and Federal agencies that were involved with the case. Matheny said in another press release, 

“As Sheriff, I want to assure the citizens of Warren County that my office will always prioritize the investigating of drug trafficking in Warren County by working with the McMinnville Police Department, the District Attorney General, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, and the Drug Enforcement Administration to ensure that we identify, investigate, arrest and prosecute those that deal drugs in our community.”
