Warren County High School sophomore Molly Smith competed in two events at the DECA International Career Development Conference in Atlanta, Ga., this week.

DECA prepares upcoming leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, hospitality, managing, and finance in high schools and colleges around the world. The International Career Development Conference is the culmination of the DECA year.

More than 17,000 high school students, teachers, advisors, and business professionals came to Atlanta for the conference. DECA members qualified to attend based on their performance at the district and associate levels. Smith qualified after placing top five in the state at the DECA competition in March. At that competition, she received two awards for top role plays in Retail Merchandising.

Smith took a written test while at the International Career Development Conference this week and competed in two business retail role plays.
