It was election time at Tennessee College of Applied Technology.All students at the college are members of SkillsUSA. The program is a partnership of students, teachers, and industry representatives working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. Elected were officers for the 2017-18 school year:• President - welding student Zach Murray• Vice President – welding student Malik Woods• Treasurer – machine tool technology student John Foust• Reporter – computer information technology student Carlton Church• Secretary – industrial maintenance student John Melton IV• Parliamentarian – computer information technology student John HenleySharon Barnes, TCAT McMinnville instructor and SkillsUSA advisor, lead the group in reciting the pledge. SkillsUSA is a national organization serving teachers and high school and college students who are preparing for careers in technical, skilled and service occupations, including health occupations and for further education.The organization strives to improve personal skills, such as integrity, work ethic, professionalism, responsibility, adaptability/ flexibility and self-motivation and their workplace skills such as communication, decision making, teamwork, multicultural sensitivity, planning, and leadership.
