A truck went airborne at the intersection of Mullican Street and Bobby Ray Memorial Parkway (bypass) Friday afternoon when one driver reportedly failed to yield the right of way.

According to McMinnville Police Officer Chris Summers, Joel Lorance was driving a Toyota Scion headed inbound and had the green light. Samuel Evans was driving a 2014 Chevy Silverado and reportedly attempted a left turn when he did not have the right of way. According to Summers, as Evans made the turn he was struck by Lorance, causing his truck to go airborne.

While the Chevy Silverado was airborne, it hit the top of a white Ford truck driven by Alexander Steiner. The Chevy then came to rest on its side.

Evans reportedly stated he did not see the car when he made the turn. He was cited for failure to yield the right of way. Summers said Lorance was transported to Ascension Saint Thomas River Park by EMS and complained of a possible broken ankle. Lorance’s hands were also bleeding following the wreck.
