Sherrell breezes past challenger

State Rep. Paul Sherrell isn’t giving up his seat in the Tennessee House without a fight. Sherrell cruised past Sparta Alderman Jerry Lowery in the Republican Primary on Thursday night, winning by a 6,039 to 3,311 vote margin, according to the Tennessee Secretary of State’s Office. Sherrell is the current representative in the 43rd District, which serves about two-thirds of Warren County and all of White and Grundy counties.
