Main Street McMinnville executive director Paige Chastain will keep the lights on for the nonprofit organization while its governing board decides who will replace her in light of her official resignation Oct. 31.“Hopefully you’ll get someone soon,” Chastain said in offering to work 15 hours a week to maintain the office while the hunt continues for the next director.Chastain, who recently finished her law degree, has taken another job after tendering her resignation amid controversy that saw the organization’s president impeached and Chastain’s co-director and several board members resign. Recent board meetings have been tame in comparison to contentious clashes before the turnover took place. Board members are eager to hire a new director so they can put the controversy behind them and move forward with fundraising activities.The job of executive director is expected to be advertised this week.
