Two Family Resource Center supporters were honored at the School Board meeting Monday night as school system Employees of the Month.

James Coldwell and Tim Kilgore were recognized by the Family Resource Center co-directors Delia Walker and Sharon Hargrove for always going above and beyond. 

“The school administration employees have been supportive and always willing to help,” said Walker. “As many of you know, the loss of Mr. Tidwell and the COVID pandemic has made it tough. We would like to spotlight two of our co-workers James Coldwell and Tim Kilgore that have gone above and beyond with helping us with any need or request. They have stayed late after school to help unload heavy items that are being donated. They have fixed, and built, and come up with ideas when we just toss something out. They are always there. One of the last things that I went to Mr. Swallows about was our coat rack on wheels that makes our lives so much easier because we can then take care of our families. They have helped with washers and dryers and shelves for shoes and just anything we could ever ask. Their attitude is what is beyond.” 

“We ask, they’ll have a smile on their face ‘we’ll do it’ and it’s done. It is done within no time so we really appreciate it,” added Hargrove. 

Coldwell and Kilgore were awarded certificates for their hard work and dedication with the center. The Family Resource Center receives recommendations from teachers, guidance counselors and other school officials when they realize a student has a glaring need. Sometimes a student may only have one pair of jeans. The Family Resource Center will work to provide additional clothing.
