The Warren County Board of Education will be taking its show on the road beginning this Monday night.

The School Board will be rotating the location of its monthly meetings and conducting the meetings at different schools each month. The August meeting, set for this Monday at 5 p.m., will be held at Bobby Ray Elementary, 504 North Chancery Street, in the school cafeteria.

The School Board has held rotating meetings in the past as a way to visit different communities in Warren County.

“It serves two purposes,” said School Board member Bill Zechman. “It gives us, as members of the School Board, a chance to get out and visit our schools. It’s also a way to encourage parents to attend our meetings. There are people who would never think of attending a School Board meeting at the Central Office, but they might attend one that’s held at their school.”

Director of Schools Grant Swallows said the number of COVID cases in the school system is sure to be a topic of conversation at Monday night’s meeting.

The locations of other School Board meetings this year are as follows:

Sept. 27 – Centertown

Oct. 25 – Dibrell

Dec. 7 – Eastside

Jan. 24 – Hickory Creek

Feb. 28 – Irving College

March 28 – Morrison

April 25 – WCMS

May 23 – West
