Going above and beyond in her efforts to protect McMinnville government employees has earned human resource administrator Jennifer Rigsby recognition from the state.
Rigsby has received an Excellence in Risk Management Award.
“It’s an honor to be selected,” said Rigsby. “I do what I can to help the city of McMinnville provide a safe workplace for its employees. However, I couldn’t do my job successfully without the support of administration and assistance from all the great city employees we have.”
The Excellence in Risk Management Award honors Pool members who exemplify excellence, innovation, creativity and commitment in providing quality safety and risk management programs within their entities.
“This award is designed to recognize members who go above and beyond to improve the safety of their workplaces,” said Dawn Crawford, president and CEO of the Tennessee Municipal League Risk Management Pool. “Current pool members who have completed a program to increase safety, reduce liability exposure, or protect and preserve property are eligible for the award.”
Rigsby was praised for a variety of projects, from a push for sidewalk installation to reducing trip-and-fall hazards in city buildings. Her efforts have been noticed.
“Jennifer has worked hard to make sure we incorporate risk management and safety into every department,” said city administrator Bill Brock. “We are proud of the positive strides we have made to our risk management program. We hope that we are keeping our employees safer and providing the best possible services to our citizens.”
