Yesterday marked the 80th anniversary of D-Day, the Invasion of Normandy in World War II on June 6, 1944. Forces from land, air and sea converged on French coastlines in opposition of Nazi forces. The invasion utilized 156,000 Allied troops and saw an estimated 29,000 American soldiers die and 106,000 troops wounded or reported missing.
