A man is facing charges after allegedly trading his vehicle and claiming it was stolen.

Ricky Lee Johnson, 46, was arrested and charged with filing a false report. According to the warrant, in April, Deputy Elizabeth Hodge took a report from Johnson who claimed his 1995 Dodge Ram 1500 was stolen from his residence.

Investigator Calvin Hammond was assigned to this case. During the investigation, Investigator Hammond determined the stolen vehicle was not stolen and was instead traded. According to the warrant, Johnson reportedly traded his truck for a wrecker and was unhappy with the trade. Johnson then allegedly got a duplicate copy of the 1995 Dodge Ram 1500 title. After getting the copy of the title, Johnson went to the Warren County Sheriff’s Department and reported his truck stolen.

Johnson was charged with filing a false report. He was taken into the Warren County Jail and had his bond set at $2,000. He was released the same day he was taken in. He is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court on Oct. 24.
