Realtors with Kirby Group | Village did their part last week to turn downtown McMinnville pink with the goal of not only raising awareness about the risks factors and prevention of breast cancer, but also raising needed funds for breast cancer research. The “Realtors and Rosé” event was held last Thursday on South Court Square at the Biz Foundry.

“Between donations and a silent auction table, we raised over $3,000 at the event and are hoping to raise more by the end of the month,” said Kirby Group | Village Broker and Partner Lara Kirby. “We had an amazing community turnout for this event with local professionals, clients, friends and family and we appreciate everyone’s participation.”

This event was held as a part of a new American Cancer Society campaign in Tennessee, Realtors Wear Pink presented by American Mortgage Services Co. which seeks to encourage realtors in the state to use their platforms to raise funds and draw attention to the breast cancer fight. Every dollar raised helps the American Cancer Society save more lives from breast cancer through early detection and prevention, breakthrough breast cancer research and lifesaving patient support.

“We are thrilled to have Kirby Group | Village participating in the American Cancer Society’s inaugural Realtors Wear Pink Campaign. Over the last 30 years, the American Cancer Society has contributed over $600 million directly benefiting breast cancer research and, with the impact of volunteers like Lara Kirby and Kirby Group | Village, we are getting closer to achieving our goal of curing breast cancer,” said Keillian Carpenter, Development Manager at American Cancer Society Nashville.

Community members clad in pink joined members of Kirby Group | Village for hors d’oeuvres provided by First National Bank as well as pink cocktails and mocktails provided by Tree City Wine & Spirits. Steve Harvey and the Assisted Living Band entertained everyone, performing classic hits on the Lot. A silent auction table featured art from Dr. Trey Kirby, signed guitars from Sam Hunt and Little Big Town, items from the Nashville Predators and several other big ticket items.

“The members of Kirby Group | Village are honored to be ambassadors for this cause. To our many friends, family members, clients, co-workers and community members who have been touched by this cause in one way or another,  we support you and honor you,” said Kirby.

Kirby Group | Village has collectively raised $5,300 to date and is still collecting donations through the end of the month. The American Cancer Society’s inaugural Realtors Wear Pink Campaign has currently raised $47,000 toward its $55,000 fundraising goal. For more information, contact Lara Kirby at 931-273-5510.
