Swimmers are just days away from a refreshing dip in McMinnville’s Gilley Pool.

Hours on opening weekend are Saturday, May 26, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, May 27, from 1 to 6 p.m. On Memorial Day, hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

June hours have been changed slightly from years past.

“We’ve extended the hours on Mondays and Wednesdays in June,” said Kyle Clyde, who is the activities director for McMinnville Parks and Recreation. “We’ve had people ask about being open longer. We’re going to try this and see what happens. In June only, we’re staying open until 7 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays. We usually close at 5 p.m.”

June hours:

Mondays and Wednesdays 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Sundays 1 to 6 p.m.

Consideration was given to including July into the change. However, it was quickly dismissed.

“American Red Cross offers its free swimming lessons in July,” said Clyde. “Staying open past 5 p.m. will not be possible on those days.”
From July through Aug. 5, hours will be Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays 1 to 6 p.m.

Through Aug. 6 until Sept. 3 (Labor Day), hours will be Saturdays only from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Cost is $4 per person. Season passes, which include Water Aerobics and Little Squirts admissions, are available. Individual season pass is $85, with a family pass $225.
