Parole officers discover drugs, gun during visit

A man on parole could see that parole turn into jail time after guns and drugs were found stashed in his home.The suspect, Melvin Eugene Ramsey, 41, is charged with simple possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. He will face hearing Oct. 4.His charges come after his parole officers showed up at his Yager Road residence to perform a home visit. When they arrived, they got a whiff of something suspicious.“They smelled marijuana,” said McMinnville police officer Brystol Davis, noting the smell prompted them to do a further search, at which time one of the officers found something else.
