Parade to jump start Viola Homecoming

The Viola Valley Homecoming Parade, set to begin Saturday at 10 a.m., will kick off festivities as the annual event leaves its traditional summertime setting for cooler fall temperatures.
Viola Valley Homecoming “Harvest Days” kicks off this Saturday, Oct. 8, with a parade at 10 a.m. Traditionally offered in August, this year’s daylong event was pushed back two months for cooler weather. “We are trying to get away from the hot weather,” said Debbie Smartt, one of the organizers. “People would come for the morning activities and leave.
