My name is Daniel Owens and I am running for the 12th District County Commission. I am grateful to have served the last term as your county commissioner for District 12 and I am humbly asking for your vote in the upcoming election.
My main focus during my time as commissioner has been the well-being of our citizens and the future direction of our county. I have tried my hardest to make the best decisions on behalf of our residents. I thoroughly analyze the budget to make financial decisions, in order to best serve each department and individual. I value our students and the school system, safety of all citizens through the Sherriff’s Department, support improvements with the Sanitation and Highway Department, and care about our animal shelter.
I have served on the Audit, Budget and Finance, Education, Financial Management, Legislative, Redistricting, and Safety/Beer board committees. I also served as the Warren County representative on the Tennessee County Commission Association.
I was born and raised in Warren County. I have resided in the 12th District of Warren County for nearly 13 years. For approximately 17 years, I was employed as an operations manager in Morrison. I am currently employed with a CPA firm as a tax manager. I am also honored to be an adjunct business faculty at Motlow College and with the Kentucky Community & Technical College System.
I am a proud graduate of Warren County High School and played sports for the Pioneers. I attended college at Motlow State Community College. After Motlow, I attended MTSU and earned a Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree in Accounting in 2017. In 2020, I earned my Master’s of Business Administration degree from Western Governor’s University.
I am a proud member of the National Association of Tax Professionals, McMinnville Young Professionals, Lucky CIC, and the Phi Theta Kappa Alumni Association. In 2009, I married Dayron Deaton-Owens, who is an associate professor of psychology and sociology at Motlow College in McMinnville.
I would like the opportunity to bring my strong work ethic, educational background, business knowledge, and enthusiasm to Warren County. I want the opportunity to be elected into this position to help lead Warren County and give back to the community that I call home. And I would be honored to serve Warren County’s residents.
