A vehicle with the city’s Public Safety Unit was involved in a midday crash Friday. PSU Officer Ed Farmelo was traveling toward Court Square in his Ford patrol unit at approximately 11:45 a.m. when he was unable to stop before entering the right-hand lane of Colville St., where his vehicle struck a Chevrolet Equinox driven by Glenna Shockley, who was driving east toward the Farmer’s Market. Both vehicles suffered significant damage, but neither driver was injured.
