Warren County has two new judicial commissioners.

Ramie Roberts, who most would recognized as chief of North Warren Fire Department, will fill the unexpired one-year term of Ken Mullican, who recently submitted his resignation.

“I enjoy helping people, even during the not-so-great part of their lives,” said Roberts. “I feel like I can be an asset to the county and our citizens by continuing the professionalism of the Judicial Commissioners.”

Dawn Cantrell will fill an unexpired one-year term of Hilda Martin, who passed away in July 2020. Martin oversaw any judicial commissioner responsibilities that arose at Warren County High School, where she was employed. Likewise, Cantrell is also a high school employee.

Cantrell is a returning judicial commissioner. She resigned in 2016 after the county instituted shifts and assigned judicial commissioners to them in an effort to reduce confusion on who works when. Having a full-time job with the Warren County School System, she could not take a shift.

County Executive Jimmy Haley presented Roberts and Cantrell before the Warren County Commission for consideration on Monday night. Both were unanimously approved.

Judicial commissioners serve two-year terms. The unexpired terms now filled by Roberts and Cantrell are set to expire in March 2022.
