Looking for a fun way to ring in the New Year? NANYE has you covered.

The third annual Non-Alcohol New Year’s Eve event begins at 9 p.m. on Dec. 31 at Farmers Market.
“Join us for this family-friendly event,” said Don Alexander. “Spend a safe, fun night at our wonderful downtown Farmers Market with great music, food, activities, tire drop, and fireworks.”

The event will feature live musical entertainment with Runaway Home, line dancing, a cornhole tournament, and a country/western costume contest.

Judging for the costume contest begins at 9:30 p.m. Categories are: newborn to 6 years, 6-18 years, 19 years and up, and a group entry. Prizes will be awarded to the winners in each category.

Much like the NANYE event itself, the costume contest is family oriented. No vulgar or inappropriate costumes will be allowed. Costumes may not include sharp or loose objects that could potentially harm others.

Entertainment will be provided by Runaway Home. Out of Nashville, it offers an Americana sound. The five-member group consists of Mark Elliot, Gary Culley, Malinda Fields, Chip Chipoletti, and Lisa Horngren. Elliot, Culley, and Fields founded the group.

“We met by chance at a small-town venue,” said Elliot, of the trio. “We discovered something we had all been looking for, a three-part harmony over lyrics that matter.”

To help keep visitors warm until the midnight tire drop and fireworks, there will be fire pits, hot apple cider, hot chocolate, and hot Dr Pepper.
