Mysterious death prompts ongoing investigation
crime scene

Questions remain behind a suspicious death that occurred four months ago.

McMinnville Police Department is awaiting the autopsy and toxicology reports on Vivian Joyce Taylor, who was found deceased on Sunday, August 25.

“We have not received the autopsy nor the toxicology,” said McMinnville Police Chief Bryan Denton. “We are still waiting on those.”

Death investigations are sometimes complicated and this part of the process takes time.

“How long it takes depends on the backlog,” said Denton. “Autopsy and toxicology results can sometimes take four to six months.”

The 47-year-old was found in her resident on Griswold Terrace, located off Spring Street, at about 1 a.m. by visitors to her home. She was reported as unresponsive and later determined to be dead.

Denton reported two months ago that there were no visible signs of foul play and that ”officers are investigating unusual circumstances surrounded the incident,” but declined to provide more information about the case and what led detectives to determine the death was unusual.

Exactly what made the death suspicious is still being withheld, and no additional updates were given in the case.
